Lilya picks a pumpkin

On Sunday, October 25, we went to the pumpkin patch at the Methodist Church in West Monroe. Lilya was a little shy at first, then took off with a bang when she saw the other kids picking pumpkins and pulling their wagons. They had many sizes to choose from (little tiny ones to huge ones). She was interested in the giant ones. She would back up to them and sit on them. She also thought she could wrap her arms around them and pick them up. We had a great time. The weather was beautiful. We found a good pumpkin to carve and Lilya ended up getting a little one for herself.

Such a clown

She has become such a clown. She has one drawer in the kitchen that is not Lilya proofed and it contains plastic containers. She pulls everything out of course and as you can tell likes to wear them or maybe her daddy puts them on her head. Either way, both of them are crazy. I guess they have a good time while I'm at work. She is also learning to feed herself. She is doing pretty good for a 14 month old. She does manage to get some food in her mouth...... on the floor, in her lap, in the chair. Sometimes she gives up and uses her hands. Oh well, at least she eats.

Ice Cream Sandwiches

We recently went on a cruise to Cozumel and Progresso. While we were gone, Lilya stayed with the Kay-Kay. Of course, she was spoiled for the entire week. Kay-Kay introduced her to ice cream sandwiches. She loves them. She wants to hold it by herself and gets pretty frustrated when she gets down to the paper as you can see. It starts to get real messy when we have to remove all the paper off, but she loves it. We love this picture. Pretty dang cute, even though she is making an evil face at her daddy.

Happy Birthday Gammaw

Today is my grandmother's birthday. She passed away 8-27-09. We miss her very much. I wanted to post a picture of her and Lilya as my birthday wish to her. Wish she could be here with us, but I know that she is watching over us, protecting us, and she is able to see Lilya grow everyday.
We love you Gammaw. Happy Birthday.

The Camo Golf Cart

We recently purchased a camouflage golf cart. It is pretty cool; big mud tires, lift kit, and of course it is camoed out. Lilya and her dad have really enjoyed it. They usually ride in the neighborhood at least twice a day. We have a patch of woods across the street where they have spotted deer. They have put out a camera and built a food plot. Of course, Roger would find a place to hunt very close by. I guess he thinks he and Lilya will climb a tree and bow hunt there. Who knows with those two?? All I know is that the golf cart is pretty muddy when I get home in the evenings.

Meet Bay-Bay

For Lilya's birthday, Dedee (my aunt Gail) gave her a baby doll because she said we were making her a rough and tough girl. Well, of course, she loves her baby. She carries her baby everywhere. Her name is bay-bay. She feeds her baby a bottle and pats her to sleep and she even shares her bed with bay-bay at night. Lilya does not use a baby bathtub anymore since she is a big girl, so she and bay-bay play in it. We aren't really sure what their imagination has turned the bathtub into; a boat, a house, her daddy said maybe a deer stand. So congratulations Dedee, you have managed to turn the rough little girl into a sweet little girl who loves her bay-bay.

.....And She's Off

Well, I guess you can see Lilya is walking, oh I'm sorry, running now. She has not stopped since about 1 week after her first birthday. These are a few pics of us in the front yard. She runs so fast sometimes, her head gets ahead of her and well I guess you can figure out the rest from the last pic. She loves to run in the grass; mud puddles are the fav. She does not stop, and does not like shoes. She would rather be barefoot; guess I'm going to have trouble this winter. We are enjoying the walking stage though. Everybody said it would be tough, but to us it is much easier.

Lilya drives Mommy to work

Every morning, Lilya has to open the garage for me, start my car, and wave bye bye as I go to work. On this particular morning, she decided that she wanted to drive mommy to work. I know you just turned 1, but we have 15 more years to go before you're getting a license.

Happy 1st Birthday Lilya

August 13th was Lilya's first birthday; but we actually celebrated all week. We started on August 8th with a princess party at Kay-Kay's. Then we celebrated with the three of us on Thursday, her actual birthday. We had a great day. We had presents and cake and then we decided to go swimming at the Cato's down the street. Lilya had a blast. She really enjoyed the slide. She liked to stand up on it and jump to Daddy. We ended the week with a party at home on Sunday August 16th with friends from the area. She had a great time opening presents with Beth. It was a lot of fun, but I am glad it only happens once a year. We are caked out and I know Lilya is. By Sunday evening, she said "no more cake icing, I have diarrhea"!!
