Miss Mardi Gras
I was decorating my front door for Mardi Gras and someone decided they needed to help me. She got into the garland that I had and thought she was really something. I think she had a little help from her daddy getting this around her neck. It wasn't as easy getting her to take it off so I could hang it up. Did I forget to mention she also got into the green glitter!!!!
Lucy
Lucy is our new dachshund. We got her in November for Lilya. She has really turned out to be a great pet for her. She stays outside in the backyard and hangs out by the back door and stares through the window at Lilya playing inside. Lilya loves her. They love to chase each other in the yard. We finally got to go out on the back deck and play this weekend. Lucy will let Lilya hold her in her lap and love on her. They are really fun to watch.

House Bound
Sorry I haven't updated the blog in a while. Lilya has been sick for 2 weeks. The Monday after Christmas we took her to the doctor and she had the flu. She still wasn't better by the next Monday (Jan. 4) (oh yeah, it was snowing that day) so we took her back and now she has bronchitis. We are doing breathing treatments which are going well and helping with her horrible cough. She is doing much better after being so sick for the past 2 weeks. We haven't been out of the house in 2 weeks either, and this weekend is not going to let us out. It has been 28 degrees during the day and 15 degrees at night. So no going out for us. I will be updating the blog this weekend then since we will be hanging out indoors. I need to get pictures of Lilya's new pet, Lucy, up on the blog as well. Hope everyone has a wonderful new year.
Oh Christmas Tree
This year we sure thought there would be lots of hand swatting going on, but much to our surprise, she didn't even touch it. We did catch her a lot of times trying to plug the lights into the wall. I bought some reindeer ornaments late this year and put them on the tree after it was all set up. As most everyone knows, she loves deer; wonder where she got that from. So when I put the reindeer on the tree, she then decided she had to have that ornament. If that was the only thing she touched on the tree, I was fine with it. Take note of the huge black eye Lilya has in the picture where she is smiling real big. That picture was the christmas card, until I blew it up and realized she had a huge black eye. One of the many bruises.
Thanksgiving in Ponchatoula
This year our Thanksgiving was spent in Ponchatoula. Chris, Jessica, and Oscar flew to her parents to spend thanksgiving with them. We started our road trip on Tuesday and headed south to spend time with them. Our trip was very interesting because Lilya had been running fever for about 5 days prior to us leaving. We took her to the doctor on Saturday and again on Monday and found out that she had roseola. So, when we woke up Tuesday morning to leave, she was covered in a rash. Thank goodness there was no more fever though. It was a long trip, but we were sure glad to see Chris, Jessica, and Oscar. Lilya and Oscar played a lot. I think she kind of bullied him though because she figured out she could walk and he couldn't. She tried to steal his toys and snacks. We had lots of fun and enjoyed Jessica's parents hospitality.
